Blackheads: Tips to Reduce the Recurrence

Have you noticed that no matter how careful you are with removing your blackheads, they keep coming back so often?

Well, here are some tips to reduce how often they recur!

1) HOT TOWEL

Using a clean, hot towel is more hygienic than using equipment such as steamer machines. Bacteria can build up inside these appliances as it is quite difficult to completely clean them. Just use a hot towel to loosen up your pores and get them ready for extraction. Test the temperature on your wrist, make sure you don’t burn yourself. Simply place the towel on areas you want to target and wait for it to cool down.

2) COMEDO REMOVER TO EXTRACT BLACKHEADS

Although it is recommended to go to a dermatologist to remove blackheads, we know that some of you prefer to do it yourself at home. It is best to use a dermatologist approved comedo remover tool to extract your blackheads. After the sebum has been squeezed out, wipe it with a clean tissue and continue until you have removed all your blackheads.

3) TONER

4) CLAY MASK

Because your pores are a tad stretched out and dilated from extraction, you need to apply a clay mask, such as Neogen Canadian Pore Clay Cleanser. A clay mask will help temporarily tighten pores, purify and minimise follicle appearance as well as absorbing excess sebum.

FINISHING NOTES

Although you will never be able to completely make your blackheads disappear, by incorporating the tips above, you can reduce the amount of time you spend in the bathroom. Just remember, if you are going to do it yourself, make sure your hands are clean and your equipment sterilised before you start.
